It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m Dale, owner of Tiny Warriors Studio.
I’ve been excited about gaming and art ever since I was a kid (I’m sure you’re the same!), from tabletop role playing games, to wargaming, video games, drawing, and painting miniatures, if there is some sci-fi or fantasy element involved then I’m probably excited about it.
I also have a passion for helping people live their best selves, studying numerous mental health degrees to achieve that goal.
Combining both of these passions is what you see before you. Tiny Warriors Studio is a place to receive the mental health support you need, in a way that helps you feel connected and safe enough to grow into your best self.
Whatever journey you’re on, I look forward to hanging out and working with you for as long as you need.
Welcome to Tiny Warriors Studio!
After graduating high school in 1998, I join the Royal Australian Air Force in 2000 as an I.T and Communications Operator.
It was overall a positive experience serving my country, but I always thought there was something missing.
Finally choosing to explore that feeling, I travel to Canada on a one year working holiday visa.
The experience was profound, and when I returned to Australia I made it my goal to express my creative and artistic side as much as I could.
However, while I had expressed myself creatively, I couldn’t seem to find peace and contentment in my role as an I.T specialist.
I had to choose between a conventional way to make money to survive, or an unconventional way by following the path of a freelance artist.
I had always been curious about the human mindset, so by choosing to take the conventional path I looked at studying to become a therapist. This decision allowed me to help others on one hand, and use my free time for artistic and hobby pursuits on the other.
So, I enrolled in the Bachelor Degree in Psychological Science through the Australian College of Applied Psychology with the goal of becoming a registered Psychologist.
While the study of psychology was fascinating, I was surprised to realise that there wasn’t much therapy going on.
To understand and become a dedicated therapist rather than a researcher or diagnostician, I switched into the Masters of Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Adelaide.
This turned out to be exactly what I was after. After the two year course, I graduated the Masters of Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Adelaide, South Australia.
I then went on to work as a therapist in multiple positions at various organisations. It was in 2018 that I opened my private practice and became self-employed as a full time Psychotherapist.
A few years pass, and my creative mind begins to wonder if I can marry the ideas of ‘therapy’ and ‘creative art and gaming’.
With a bit of help and creativity, Tiny Warriors Studio was born on Twitch and well received.
With a few years of private practice experience under my belt, and a very on-again/off-again relationship with Twitch streaming, I decide to dive head first into making Tiny Warriors Studio a way to help others with their mental health and express my own love of art and gaming at the same time.
Forging ahead, the website goes live, the community begins to widen and clients begin their journey towards their best selves.
